August 14, 2017 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 70, nice, but smokey
Comments:
ROUGH day. Slept TERRIBLY last night: gut rot, like nothing moved. This is the classic giardia symptom from the first go-round. "Woke up" extremely non-rested.
7AM patient (a woman I met at the race Saturday, good marketing, Uhan van!), then Keith and CA came by, and we did a combined gait analysis for everyone.
To add insult to gut rot: I'm fucking SWIV-ING AGAIN! Goddamnit! WTF? Not as terrible as historically, but -- it certainly explains the right ab cramps, because my left arm is NOT swinging back (so it's like a half-swivz). UGH.
On top of that, I had worsening gut rot, mid-day, so all in all, I was in a bad mood.
Thankfully some good news: I got a hold of my doc (called him Friday) and at 10:20AM he offered to see me at 11. In about 90 minutes:
- I enrolled (he's a subscription-based, non-insurance MD!)
- drove to north Eugene and got an exam
- he rx'd new meds and ordered labs
- I got blood drawn and "equipment" for a stool sample
- drove home!
Glad the ball is rolling. I missed my run, as a result, but I didn't care.
Came home and ate brunch with Keith and CA (which gave me more gut rot), drove Keith to the airport, then went back to work to treat patients. My 4:15 (essentially) no-showed, so I went out for a quick run, pre-yoga.
Jogged entirely barefoot around SEHS, but no turf, since fall sports were practicing. Ran on real (but rugged) grass, then some 300m jaunts on the track surface. Felt OK.
Yoga: good class. Then beers with the Taylors. Felt like ass, and didn't eat dinner, afterward, in hopes that I could sleep.
