HC5K race day! Rolled out of bed, drank some coffee, ate a banana, let it sit some, then headed off to bib  Bit of a warmup, and a couple of strides, and I was off. Went pretty darn okay, considering the one workout I've had in months. Had nice and even splits, 6:00, 6:06, and 6:11. Which felt really good, since that meant I was moving past people who didn't know how to pace the entire time. Even got to pass like 6 people in the last quarter mile , which felt even better. And it felt like there was still more juice in my legs, but that could just be ego. 
Total time ended up being just shy of 19 minutes, which was the goal. So I'm super psyched about that. Finished 9th overall, first in my age group (20-24), and first for my town (Cranbury)!  The C-bury thing got me a plaque, which was a bit of a surprise. Kinda felt like this was a setup though, there aren't a ton of fast people my age that were gonna sign up for this race anyway. But I've got to get an inflated head somehow. Either way, I'm not sure what to do with this swag now. Except maybe sign up for a bunch of races this fall. My wallet is gonna hate me.
