Glacier NP - Macdonald Lake Trail + strides

September 11, 2017 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 40, cold, but SMOKEEEEY!

Comments:
Up at 7 to do some work, then went with the gang (CA, Court, Bert, his sister Candace, again) into the park for an AM run. Unfortunately, the smoke was coming back, and once in the park - at Apgar, near one of the big fires - it was pretty bad. But we went for it anyway, resigned to getting in at least a few miles.

The three ladies and I ran from a parking lot along the lake, through the CG, and onto this great "lakeshore" (ridge) trail. While through an old burn area, it was outstanding singletrack. But damn, the smoke, just POURING into the lake valley from the ridge to our southeast. Not good. I could feel the breathing start to restrict.

We turned back and had a spirited half-grind back to the lot. I felt good. The new metric: I sleep good, I feel good. LOLZ.

Did x6 strides, helped Candace with her stride a bit (suuuper upright), then we headed back to the house to pack up.

Cleaned up, packed up then hit the road. I decided to fast 'til mid-afternoon...then made some bad, but enlightening, food decisions.......(continued)
