October 3, 2017 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: mid 60s, dry, crisp, warm, perfect
Comments:
Another busy day: 3 patients in the AM, then two (as it turned out) in the PM. BEAUTIFUL fall morning
I thought about doing some Baldy hills, but I didn't want to bash my heel and ankle, and with a glut of tempo last week and this (weekend), I decided to simply repeat the short hill sprints.
These things are SO damn hard. It's the extreme of all running: NEVER get easier, only faster.
Something must've been in the air (turns out, it was some lingering smoke wafting in, worse in the PM). I was asthmatic - really breathing hard on these. But they felt fine enough.
Ran from the office, did x4 strides, then got after it. Stride focus:
- Forward (and later TALL, including through the NECK so I could breathe!)
- PUSH BEHIND (foot, hip-butt)_
- knees out
- pelvis left
Once again, because I didn't want to be discouraged, I didn't look at any splits today. Just took 'em and kept going. Almost wimped out multiple times...but just kept going, 'til #7, when I felt like I was falling apart.
Felt good on the jog home. GOOD run! Some gut rot today, but otherwise fine!
Post-run: lifted right away. Didn't check my watch 'til it was all over. WOW:
68.4, 43
70.6, 43
70.3, 43
68.0, 44
69.6, 45
69.5, 48
65.4!, 46
That last one was a major (2 second?) PR. Once again...I used "female" motivations (let's just say..."a picture I saw on the Gram") as a fantasy motivator for that last one. WORKS EVERY TIME. #LOLZ.

Stride is really coming around! And the heel felt GOOD (teeny bit sore at the end)
