"Winter' Spencer Hike with CA

October 12, 2017 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: high 40s, rain, cold

Comments:
Weird day. I got a jury duty summons for this day. so other than a 7AM client, I blocked it off. Thankfully, didn't get the call!

Saw my 7AM, then hustled home in pretty heavy, COLD rain. Yeesh. Did some work at the house, then CA and I went to go see a house for sale: 1447 E 38th.

LOVED IT. It's on the southeast rim -- of the "U"-shaped ridge that surrounds Eugene on the south. Steep road to a steep-ass driveway. The house is 3-stories (including basement), with two stories of deck, huge high-ceiling rooms, heated floors...and a damn sauna upstairs! WOW.

We like it. A lot. And for now, it's listed at $295K.

After that (and a couple more mediocre) tours, we went for a hike-run. CA's shin is still bothering her, so I accompanied on this hybrid session. Went from the lower Willamette TH, up to Ridgeline, up the steep-ass northface, then down. We hiked every up (Northface is ONLY hike-able, probably 60% grade), and ran most every down. She felt really good, I think.

I felt...like crap. CA made us pancakes that had maybe a dozen allergens in them (including dairy, a bunch of nut flours, etc), so I felt SUPER-sluggish. Legs were fine...but it was rainy and cold.

Post-run-hike:
- to the store
- quickly home to figure out if we should make an offer on this place. I think we will!

Overall, I'm feeling more rested. Still tired, and still some calf stiffness, but coming around pretty well. REALLY glad I'm being this patient. The plan from this weekend, on is essentially 9 more days of "bigger" mileage, then taper time.
