October 29, 2017 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 50s, nice
Comments:
Slept IN with CA. Didn't sleep very well, though: like a terrible combo of too-soft and too-stiff on the mattress. That said...we had low quality but high quantity, sleeping from about 10p-9a!
Got up stiff. We didn't have a stretch mat or a foam roll, so we did some stretches and winged it. Not a great plan.
Ran upstream on the MRT from Deer Creek. It's mellow for maybe 2 miles, then really climbs! Forgot about that. CA led and I was behind, feeling both a bit sluggish and stiff. Just didn't feel like I could move well.
We ran about 3.4 miles out, then turned back. CA's calf is better, but still sensitive. Didn't feel too much better on the inbound. Felt good ot be done at 7.4 or so. No strides.
Definitely too stiff from that bed, for sure!
Post-run:
- "showered" in this teeny hotsprings that sits right along the river! Pretty cool
- got coffee in McKenzie Bridge
- drove the Aufderheide scenic road that runs N-S to Oakridge. Really cool! Stopped for a short hike to see the Constitution Grove of big trees.
- ate late lunch (fast-breaking) at 58 Drive In
- home
Great weekend! So nice to spend it outside, and with a campfire!
