Red River Gorge Hike

December 17, 2017 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Walk

Weather: mid-40s - mid-50s, on and off rain

Comments:
Long hike with Callie's uncle Peter, cousin Sam (and fiance Kelsie) and CA. Drove from Wilmore to LEX to get them, then to the Red River Gorge, which is east of LEX.

Did a nice, big hiking loop in the Gorge...which is like a gigantic (but less deep) version of the AR canyons. It had some good ups and downs, but nothing crazy.

Felt pretty good to move around, but -- as with any long hike -- got tedious at the end.

Right heel was irritable, on and off, during the hike. But that long walk was the best thing for it, as it felt decent the rest of the day.

NigZ from yesterday:

- right heel: CLEARLY from inadequate right foot & ankle push off
- mild right abs: same as above
- right hamstring tight: same as above
- general glute soreness, bilteral (good)
- no real QWAAADZ

PM: drove back to LEX (3hr round trip), and home pretty late. Had dinner with the family, then I had to retreat for like two hours to do my coaching!

Good day.
