RF "Three Corners"

December 18, 2017 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: mid-30s, not bad

Comments:
Busy but good day: up EARLY (5:20 Eastern = 2:20 Pacific!), to the airport, then had a little heat getting my flight to MSP. I was pretending to flight to LaGuardia. A flight from LEX to LGA was $130 (with a stop in MSP). while a flight only to MSP was $300!

So you buy the flight, then get off on your "layover". Works well if:

- you don't check bags (they'd go to the end destination)
- you have NO issues with delays, cancels or overbooks!

Well, two things:

1. It was overbooked. So when I checked in online, I had no boarding pass 'til I got to the gate.
2. When I got to the MSP gate...there was a fucking DIRECT FLIGHT to LaGuardia, next door, leaving at the same time!!

They called me over and said, "Hey, you're going to LaGuardia, do you wanna just take this flight?"

I stammered and came up with an excuse, saying "I'm meeting a friend during my layover" in MSP! LOLZ. They bought it, and got me on the MSP flight.

Once in town:

- Billy picked me up and drove me to RF
- I ran in RF: the traditional "Four Corners" route (out of town a bit, in all directions) minus the west route.

Felt stiff but solid: not a ton of soreness from the marathon, but definitely some tenderness and sensitivity in the calves. Did x6 strides in the last 1.5 miles.

Post-run: cleaned up, then drove 3 hours west to go see Steve. It was a goodwill mission: to visit him at his job, and to talk and try the bury the hatchet after 2+ years of tension and issues. It was fairly successful at that, and overall a great trip.

Drove home. Went to bed.
