Tumalo Creek Area

July 19, 2008 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Bike

Weather: 80s, sunny, nice

Comments:
Woke up today and felt just horrible. Not hang-over, but just tired and shitty -- even dizzy. After a morning of this, I decided I'm 100% done with aleves. No more. Sooo many side-effects. Took 2 before bed and I think how I felt this morning -- and this month, in general -- is due to them, and NOT worth any anti-inflam effects. Yikes.

Went for a nice fitness walk down Purcell BLVD by Casey's, whilst making phone calls. Wound up walking an hour. Nice morning.

After sitting around, trying to get energy, I finally mustered some to get Behrs and I out to Tumalo creek area so he could trail run and I'd bike a bit. I biked maybe 10 minutes down Skyliners Dr before turning back. Good thing, because it took 16 minutes to bike back the uphill. Just TIRED. This SUCKS.

Did abs in the grass along the trailhead waiting for K to return. Once he got back, we drove 3mi up the dirt road to check out THE FALLS. Very cool. Lots of terrific trails up there for some mega-long trail runs. Look forward to that possibility someday. Not today, though. :|

Got back, cleaned up, and went to Izzy's Pizza buffet. Ate too much, per usual. Then went to "Dark Knight". Great flick. Bend Brewery was our last stop of the night for some good brews. K got the sample platter -- nine pico beers!

Knee hurt progressively more today. Not sure why: defintely because I'm coming off the aleves, but possibly because I started doing short-arc quad step-downs. Barb said my knee issue may be due to a shitty VMO not working. The knee pain was demoralizing.

I also decided I'm DONE biking for a while. Not sure if it's really hurting, but it's not worth risking recovery by continuing if it is.
