West Pre Loop

July 21, 2008 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 80F, partly cloudy

Comments:
Decided to run today. Read a lot about chondromalacia and it said if you "avoid painful positions" you can run on it...which is what I thought in the first place! :| So, no hills, try to tape, and on top of all that, keep "wakin' up" the VMO, which I did plenty of today in the form of slow step-downs.

Ran an easy 5 on West Pre with Behrs. We figured it was our first run together since we did 3 up on Ridgeline on 6/7! Cripes!

Felt pretty damn good. Felt the knee a tiny bit on the sup/lateral side, but that might've been due to taping. Really focused on firing the VMO during push-off (which actually messed with my stride a bit) but no pain like I used to have. Moreover, it felt good right after the run when I did drills in the Pancakes House parking lot.

If all goes well, I'll run again tomorrow...maybe farther. Keep your fingers crossed.

Stretched, iced, made dinner, and went to bed before 9.

Weighed in at like 164 yesterday at work. KITTIN ME? WOW. Not sure how much (if any) that's due to aleve gain, because my diet (in volume) has been out of control. Gotta reign this in, even if I'm depressed over being injured. Good day today, thankfully...
