August 19, 2018 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Another afternoon nap up into a run. This is good, reminds me of when Josh and I would watch football, both pass out on the couch, then I would wake up around the second game and go run to the gym. Just feeling so sleepy on sundays. The weather was perfect this evening. Not as hot or humid as the past weeks. Started out making my way to Amherst College, then cutting onto the bike path. Already starting to feel heavy legs of sorts but I kept with it. Cut off to Pratt then ran down Lincoln before just blasting down Main St back to Fort River. Thats a nice loop. The hills in the beginning get ya, but the downhill at the end is really nice. I noticed that my legs were still pretty tired on the way back down the hill, so I pulled off at Fort River and did some striders on the basketball courts to shake out the legs. The fields were saturated still from all the rain. That actually helped a lot and gave me some calmdown time as the sun was going down. Very nice. I slowly jogged back up to Arbor and legs felt much better.
Essentials: Stretch
Felt pretty flexible stretching out. This is my first 20+ mile week since February, and I think its the second of the year. How fuckin ridiculous is that! Why?? Im feeling pretty solid too. Weekends are for mileage and I can at least fit a workout and a morning run in during the week. Nothing compared to the work those kids are putting in at camp this week though...
