Wash U Campus loop

October 21, 2018 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Pretty chill day getting ready for the wedding in the evening. I wasnt as tired this morning. Me John Blaire and Chris headed out after the rest of the house went downtown to get BBQ and play at the City Museum. We started out on the same path around Forest Park. Chris started telling an intense story so I took over the pace. We took a turn down the edge of Wash U campus, which I have never really explored. Turned at the track (Francis Field, the home of the 1904 Olympics) then came down campus. Awesome campus, very Ivy League but still UAA feel as well. Some construction caused us to detour around and come out on the north end of campus. Then we cut back into the park and came back the same way. I felt comfortable holding the pace for everyone and leading. Still feeling pretty good. 3 runs in a row after bumming in Houston. Maybe its that Spartan spirit when you have a team around you to run with. Finished up that the house.

Essentials: Stretch

Scrambled to get ready so we could also get downtown and get some BBQ. It hit the spot oh man and I was soooo hungry too. Blaire and I walked it off down to the City Museum which we had an hour or so to explore. I remember when Thea took us there before the road trip and we spent the entire afternoon running and climbing around and it was scorching hot out. I was toasted afterwards and fell asleep in the car ride back, which meant it was a good time. Now this time around it wasnt as hot and I just randomly explored looking for fun slides. We made good time and got back to the AirBnB with enough time to suit up and head back to Forest Park. The wedding was amazing, congrats all the way to David and Thea. I am glad you shared it with so many friends and family. Ceremony, reception, after party, everything was just the way it should be. When the rabbi mentioned that this story started 7-8 years ago, that hit hard and I thought back to those days, what running, team mates and friends really mean. Everyday it amazes me how timeless that stuff is, even though my goals are looking forward, everything is still there.
