It was chilly today. Stayed a little late wrapping up and packing up. I was looking forward to a run. Still feeling in limbo not sure how I should feel about my last few days in Amherst. I have been here for so long, slogging, grinding, training, learning. I guess thats the point, to then go out and do something great. Makes me feel a little bit better about the transition. Ran down to the access rd, full moon illuminated the way nicely. Then just came around Infirmary way and over to the rec center. Turned on the jets coming back into the rec center. I was just feeling it. I usually do in that section. Finished up with a mile on the track, striding out on the straight aways. I didnt see many people in the gym, quiet for finals. I didnt mind. Might be my last time in the gym. It served its purpose I wasnt a regular but I was glad to have it on those cold winter nights.

Essentials: Stretch, roll

Had to stretch and seriously roll. Legs feeling tight and worked, like they did after the long mileage this weekend. Felt much better and I felt smooth on the cool down to the parking lot. Its runs like these that can put you into a good mood. Grateful for that. Looking back on running in Amherst, this is where I got prepared for my final cross season, our trip to nationals. And kept me sane through the trials of grad school. Wasnt the world best running and not a lot of variety. I dont know if Ill miss it as much as running in Cleveland and at home. but I made it work. Thats just what you got to do.
