Hamburg, DE -- Elbe River Run, back to Agata's

January 27, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Hamburg, DE - tiny bit of rain, otherwise OK - mid 40s

Comments:
Slept in again, and didn't get out 'til 11. Glad Agata was OK with that.

This time, we walked to the bus station, but not before getting a coffee and some pastry. Had that on a long bus ride, which took us to the SW end of town, where we'd run a river path along the Elbe, back to town.

Ugh, I remember this feeling: caffeinated coffee (no decaf available) + dairy = this awful combo of fatigue but also anxiety? Thankfully it wasn't too bad...and after a few miles, it "burned off">

Solid run: low 8s to mid-7s pace along a variably paved, dirt, cobble path, along the (industrial but nice enough) Elbe river, then back into central Hamburg. Things got a bit more squirrely once in town - dodging folks - and fatigue mounted, but it was solid.

Ankles were...decent! We did nearly 13 miles, and they weren't bad at all. This is amazing, considering the walking we did last night!

GOOD RUN. I feel encouraged.

CA had a decent run, too, but her hip stuff flared in the last 3 miles (grindy-uphill).
