February 12, 2019 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Felt pretty decent this morning, so I decided to fartlek.
I was committed to staying controlled, and - while I don't have the precise data in front of me - I think they were pretty fast on the standard ("not fast") course that meanders through PRE, and on various surfaces and hills. I did change things up, slightly: avoiding some of the super-soft new bark, and adding on some road into Springfield.
Felt strong 'til the last couple -- always tough to end on uphills.
Pretty sure most of my 3:00s were at least 0.5mi, which is nice. With my 1:00 jog rests, I was crusing ~6:30/mile.
Grinded the final easy mile a bit (6:47) and added on for an even 8.
Calves were pretty tight after I was done. Sure hope it was from "using them right"...and not from being inefficient.
Form-focus:
* hip hinge
* relaxed chest (tough)
* ARMS (scaps, elbows)
* pawback
Didn't get a ton done in the AM, before seeing four patients in the afternoon. No hunt tonight; instead I got a ton of work done, then.
