February 28, 2019 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 30, everything frozen and slick
Comments:
Up at 6:40. This day, like the preceding three, wasn't that "busy", but as with the others: everything takes fucking forever when you're inundated with snow and ice.
The plan was to run a hard session before my chelation appointment (#4 of 6), followed immediately by our flight to Florida at noon. But upon waking, we were both stiff and wary of the potentially horrible footing. However, equally repulsed by the thought of another treadmill run, we resigned to an easy run outside.
The plan was to drive the truck to InShape and launch from there. It was an adventure. My shoveled drive was clear of snow...but melt and runoff made it glare-ice in parts. I had to get out and redirect the ass-end of CA's truck as she gently reversed it down the driveway. Ridiculous. What ultimately helped was shoveling potting soil from a pile near our house, onto the ice.
Drove super-slow on glazed roads to InShape and ran from there.
It generally sucked. The "best" footing was the irregular, compressed foot paths along sidewalks. Everything else was glare ice. It was slow-going and not very fun.
On top of that, we were so slow that I barely made my chelation appointment on time.
After that: more painfully slow "hustling" to get home again (without driving up the driveway) to frantically shower, eat and pack before hitting EUG.
It was SNOWING at the airport when we left.
Over it!
Felt pelvis-stiff on the run. Turns out the right SI is stiff again. CA worked on it in the airport and it's now better.
On the plus-side: 200 miles run in February. AND the energy to run has been pretty good.
That said: the drugs are having some side-effects. Rather than "'roid-rage", I think I have "'roid crank", as well as a lot of difficulty concentrating. I hope it fades. Thankfully sleep has been pretty solid.
Ran in new FlyLytes.
