Right ankle insights

April 19, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Other

Comments:
While watching the movie, I started doing some soft tissue techniques I learned last weekend.

What I discovered:

* right peroneal muscles (longus and brevis, for sure) are stuck to the extensor digitorum.
* they live next to each other but have opposing actions (extensor does toes-up; peroneals do toe-down)
* where they DO work together: controlling my foot and ankle on footstrike: ED slows the foot (to not slap); peroneals keep the ankle "strong"
* mega-lateral striking likely overused and glued them together.

Felt some cool things doing focused work (with prolonged pressure) to separate them. Felt strange and cool to feel it "give' and separate!

I'm encouraged. This could be the answer.
