Haverford "Midweek" 800

April 22, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Since I'm not racing at conferences, I figured I would race the 800 today and try to conquer it one last time this year. "Fresh" off my 5k, my legs could have felt a lot better, but I tried to keep it out of my mind as the gun went off. I got out kind of hard, running a 65, but in the future I'd like to get out even harder–maybe a 64 or even 63. I think from there, in good shape and on fresh legs, I could finish off with like a 68 or 67 which would be a huge improvement. Couldn't find any faster gears than what I slowed down to about 200 in. I just kind of slugged through it today, did my best, and called it a race. 65, 70. Still somehow a season best, and better than any formal race I've done this year for the 800 (excluding my PR Mr. December time of 2:12). I also shook out this morning for a mile. My legs are currently very dead.
