St. Albans Meet

April 23, 2019 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 80; Sunny

Comments:
We jogged there and stretched once we arrived. I chilled for a while before I warmed up for the 800m run with a huge group of people. We barely had enough time as the meet ran 15 minutes ahead of schedule. The gun went off 12 minutes before it was supposed to, but I got out quick nonetheless. The first lap was 69 seconds. I kinda got boxed out but pulled through after the 300m meter mark. I failed to maintain the pace and the second lap ended up being a 73. I was pleased, though. I didn't expect to PR today. The race was also so much better than the one at Trojan. I cooled down a little and then ran the second leg of a 4x400. I got out too conservative, so some narc from St. Albans easily passed me, but he slowed down. I caught him in the straightaway and came through the 400m mark in 66 seconds. Not a PR, but definitely what I could ask for with the given conditions. And, that reminds me, the pollen was terrible today, again exacerbated by the heat. I cooled down with Abby and Litty after their 3200m and then jogged back to school, per Ella and Ruby's request, the "fun way."
