Olympic Peninsula - "Discovery Trail"

June 24, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 60, sunny, nice

Comments:
Slept in a bit too much and rushed to get out. Drove 5 minutes down from the house to the TH of the "Discovery Trail", which is a long trail that runs east-west on the north side of the Peninsula.

Stiff and really tired at first, so the going was really slow. But things came around on this midwest-style mildly rolling singletrack trail through mostly small trees. CA was fartlek-ing again, and she actually got well ahead of me.

We ran out two miles, 'til Callie ran into Courtney, then the three of us ran back.

Easy 4 miles and that was plenty!

Rest of the day:
* quick breakfast, then packed up!
* sort of rushed to Bainbridge Island (1ish hr drive). Callie drove while I did caoching. Made it just in time to get a car ferry right into downtown Seattle!
* weird day in town: lots of walking around/touring. Pike Market was JAMMED with tourists. Gross.
* happy hour oyster snack down by the water, then beers atop "Smith Tower" (>100 year old skyscraper, that was once the "Tallest building west of New York"
* dinner at a place near our downtown airbnb

Pretty decent time, but yikes, I don't think I'm a city guy, much anymore.

Feet were pretty sore from yesterday, plus all the walking today.
