"hard 800", 10x200m solo

Weather: mid 60s, nice

Comments:
Up fairly early for this solo track session. I had the morning off, but Emily was coming by the clinic to study at 8, so I ran at 6:30

Solid, but unspectacular, once again.

Notes:
* felt heavy on the warm-up, but the stride came around again. Felt pretty good about the hip hinge, did a decent job of "vag up", and did pretty well with loading the right hip and pawing back.

OF NOTE: the calves were pretty rocked from Monday, I THINK because I was actually landing beneath my body and using them! This was also the case today.

* Rather than do a grind mile, I decided to do a "hard 800". I used to do this, a lot: sort of blast something harder, then have to "deal with" the fatigue.

* Ran all the reps counterclockwise, since (annoyingly) there were two other people on the track, including a woman (maybe 50?) who looked like she was serious, running mile repeats (at maybe 7:xx pace, and with 5:xx "standing around" rest).

The 800...was uncomfortable, but not that painful...and slow. 2:40 is now my "hard"? Ugh.

Jogged a lap, then hopped into the 200s.

The idea was the gradually cut down but that didn't quite happen, mostly because I cut my rest pretty short. On the whole, the rest was between 70 and 80s for the 200m jog.

All the reps were between 34-high and 35-very low. Solid, but not amazing.

Had maybe 3 out of 12 under 35, with 34.7 my fastest. Didn't push all-out, but ran pretty hard.

That said, my form was really solid: good sustained hinge, good hip drive, good hip load, good pawback...just solid. Never felt like I faltered.

Jogged a mile on the bark, then got a text from Emily saying she's going to be late, so I ran another 2K.

* studied with Emily
* ate a quick breakfast
* worked 11-5
* massage 'til 6
* lifted weights
* home to eat and study more
