Tempo Time Again

Down to MLK for my first tempo in quite some time. Figured it would be hard to guess what my pace would be at this point so I decided to go by heart rate - with the 80 - 85% ish range. Planned on 4 miles.

Great weather for it - beautiful.

The tempo went fairly well. The miles were:

6:09, 6:16, 6:17, 6:08 with my heart rate in the low to mid 160s until the end when I was towards 170. It felt like a tempo effort. I guess I was hoping that for my HR range the paces would have ended up being faster BUT I am only 6.5 weeks into my training and have not done a legit workout for two ish years. So, I am sure there was some dust to shake off with moving my legs faster than I have in quite a while.

We will see what next week brings if I aim for similar HRs. I also want to look back to my first tempo in prior training seasons.

Did a lap around Wade Oval Wednesday on my cooldown. That was nice.
