RPHS Fartlek

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Nice run today. Got a lot of rest and was ready to go. Since I didnt run yesterday, started out with a quick pace. Made my way down to the high school past the primary school. Felt pretty good to get legs moving. Once I got to the track, set up a fartlek, 1 min on 1 min off set to a 400m cycle. Did 6 reps of that, ended up being just about 300m with 100m cool down. Nice consistency. I could feel them getting harder and harder even though the timing stayed the same. Focused on form and precision going down the straight away. Last one, really felt like I was in it and made it about 350m with the final push. Speedy stuff is sporadic these days, so it was nice to get out there and move a little. Took my time cooling down at the track and making my way back down Hallock Landing.

Essentials: Stretch, roll

Had to stretch and roll it out. Calves were feeling awfully tight when I finished up, so I wanted to work on them when I got back. Also needed to rehydrate a bit. Weather was nice but its still warm in the sun. And the tough pace brings it out. HR was right up around tempo effort when I finished. Its still in there.
