nth Annual Crater Lake Rim Ride

September 8, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Bike

Weather: 40s, rain!

Comments:
Woke up to very light mist and chilly temps at 6:15. Got suited up and on the bikes just past seven...to more rain.

Rode into the park...and it only got worse: colder, wetter, windier. I started wearing my waterproof puffy jacket...and was shocked that I had to keep it on!

10 miles and 1800' later we got to the rim road...socked in with fog, wind and rain.

We turned back.

CA had barely any jacket, and outside my waterproof puff, everything else was soaked. We flew down the hill and rode back to the van.

"Oh, well. Good try".

Not the first time I've failed to do the loop, but that was the shortest. And BY FAR the worst weather!

Rest of the day:
* drove to Diamond Lake to get coffee
* CA wanted to go to "Umpqua Hot Springs", above an hour west of Crater and an hour east of Roseburg. Interesting to be there in broad daylight: small pools, warm, nice...and a fair quantity of (might I say, fairly dang attractive0 nude people! Lolz! That's the most random nudity I've seen since college! Once two 60+ yo's showed up...it was "time to go"! :-p

Drove home.
