October 12, 2019 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 60, "fake cold" (overcast, breezy)
Comments:
Slept OK, but dilly-dally'd, including a Green Salmon stop, before heading out for a run.
Ran north along the trail (where the wedding 5K was) then onto the beach and kept on it 'til we hit 3 miles.
Really working on my hip extension/Salazar heel recovery. We saw the OC50K runners blow past our house (8 mile point?) and the lead guy had a GREAT stride.
I also realized something else: I think I'm lateral striking/under-using my medial arch.
So for the run, in addition to working my "Walmsley" (formerly known as "Salazar Stride": heel recovery), I was working on medial foot engagement.
Felt OK, but not awesome. CA wanted to run the botanical garden trail, but I was too stiff, so I ran back early, past the house, down to the "bridal party house" on Ocean Drive and back to get 7 miles.
Rest of the day:
* brunch (and watched Georgia blow it to South Carolina, which was nice)
* "Wedding Tour": showing Andy our wedding sites
* nap
* to Newport for dinner
Pretty fun day...
