Wallowa Lake - Chief Joseph ridge hike

November 30, 2019 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Walk

Weather: 20F, mostly sunny (with a few pesky clouds)

Comments:
Went on a little hike up the ridge. No major feat of strength snowshoe like a year ago. In fact, there was just enough snow in the trees (4-6"?) to make hiking annoying, but fine.

CA and I drove to the boat launch and parked there, then the four of us hiked straight up the ridge to the ridgeline trail to get a cool lookout at the lake and surrounding mountains.

My ankle/heel felt surprisingly OK, but CA's calf was a little bothersome, so we turned back early.

Once back at the truck: I FINALLY taught CA how to drive stick-shift! It's been on "our list" for, like, FIVE YEARS!

It went well, and she was surprisingly pretty damn good! We drove a bunch of circles on the snowy but flat (and completely empty) boat launch, then drove into town. Got MMLs and hung out, then came back.

Rest of the day:
* Joseph Christmas Parade! Very short this year, but fun. Cool that they were throwing candy again this year (and I even brought my own to throw)
* beer and cards a "Embers Brewhouse"
* dinner at this new (and slow-ass) wood-fired pizza place
* no pool: the place we played a year ago had closed, and one other place was busy, so we drove home

CA and I spent an hour packing up between a movie, then bed. Heading home tomorrow.
