March 17, 2020 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: sunny, nice
Comments:
Had a GREAT PT session this morning (and my last). What we learned:
* when I run "normal", my arm swing is janky AND my trunk sidebends both way (L>>R) AND I have TERRIBLE trendelenburg (hip drop) on the LEFT (only)
* when I run with shoulder blades AND elbow straight back: no trunk sidebend...but pelvis still sucks...
Jeff worked on my shoulder blade, doing a mob that's never been done on me (streching serratus), which made the arm swing way easier.
So even though I was sore from yesterday's run, I drove to South Eugene to link up with CA and Alexis, who were doing Baldies. I watched their last half-mile of the tempo, then jogged back with them.
Stopping back at the van, we did more filming to confirm:
1. Nothing:
* TERRIBLE hip drop L
* side to side trunk
* shitty arm swing
2. Arm swing
* trunk is much better
* hip drop is still pretty bad
3. Arm swing PLUS "pelvis forward" (with R pushoff: R "hip" goes back", L "hip"/pelvis goes forward)
* 80% better hip drop!
Ran another 2mi with CA working on this.
SUPER-encouraging day!
(Except covid19 stuff...)
