"Time Trial" (coaching) + PRE/downtown w/Matt, Bart

March 28, 2020 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: mid 40s, rain

Comments:
CA and Alexis did a 5K time trial. I biked/measured the course for them. I parked at Alton Baker, and the run went on my old tyme tempo course: two miles down river to the mall, cross the bridge (conveniently about 0.1 miles long), then back upriver a mile.

CA had a lot of symptoms, unfortunately (possibly due to me working on her aggressively yesterday). She started off strong, but faded: 5:58, 6:08, 6:2x for 19:10. Alexis paced a little better, running 19:3x. Good efforts for them!

I was pretty wet and cold, but wanted to run. So I packed the bike into the van and sat there for a bit...and up walked Matt and his friend, Bart. So the three of us ran together (in this inverted V formation).

Bart is a basketball coach, and sort of paces like one: we got out a little fast in the first half-mile, then slowed.

I felt...OK. Not as good as yesterday. I probably should've been done when we completed the (inverted) PRE loop, but I decided to run more, more slowly, and with more form focus.

Ran from the park, across DeFazio and into downtown, in part to have reflections to check my form, and the other, to see how it's looking.

While the farmer's market was open (but sparsely visited), the rest of DT was a ghost town.

Ran down Broadway/9th, then back via 5th, and back to the park.

Solid run. 7 miles!

Rest of the day:
* breakfast
* some work
* NAP!
* read
* looked up stuff for small business relief (and even unemployment - apparently under this crisis, self-employed might be eligible)

Ate dinner, then had a double-header of "Game of Thrones".

Ankle was pretty damn stiff in the afternoon: likely/mostly because I didn't have any tape or brace on it in the afternoon. CA worked on my calf in the PM.

OK day.
