I had mapped out the shortest possible route to Whitman but quickly took a few wrong turns near Westmoreland so I bailed on that plan and just cut around that neighborhood, eventually finding my way to River, which I took all the way to Whittier and found Gaba before hopping the fence, doing some drills and strider, and getting right to the workout of 6x800m. First rep was ambitious and we paid the price later on. Gaba and I took turns leading reps, which broke up the monotony. The going got tough around 3 and 4, but on the 5th rep we tried something new: increasing effort every 100m. This brought the time down considerably. The last one was a bit slower because of this, though. Splits were 2:34, 2:36, 2:36, 2:38, 2:33, and 2:39. Hard workout overall but I felt a sense of control in every rep. Ran 2 miles cooldown and then got a ride home. Short tomorrow, average Friday, and time trial Saturday
