River Path + PRE (Alexis' 5K TT #2)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: rainy (off off mist/hard rain) but warm (60F)

Comments:
Helped Alexis out with her second 5K time trial (first one was 4-5 weeks ago).

Drove to Alton Baker, met Alexis, then CA left ahead of her and jogged the course.

I felt remarkably good on the early miles - THE worst time is always between a 0.5 and 1.0 miles and today that wasn't bad at all. Moreover, I'm not longer super-stiff at the very beginning of runs: another big improvemnet.

After a jog mile in 9:00, we sped up a bit to stay ahead of Alexis: CA planned to pace her last mile. I had a "wild hair" to pace the final half-mile.

"But you haven't even done strides *this year*", CA said.

True, so when she stayed at VRC bridge to await Alexis, I did x5 strides and ran to the 0.5 to go mark.

Felt pretty good. Not amazing. Worked on:

* arm swing (compact, strong)
* pawback (pelvis forward/back)
* feet (DF flexion, PF push-off)

Ran the last half mile. Alexis was cooking! We for sure were at or sub-6 pace!

She did great. 19:2x, but closed in a 6:05 last mile! Pretty cool.

Jogged easy back to AB, then CA and I jogged another 1.5+ miles to round to over 6 miles.

L ankle was pretty good. I can still tell I'm inconsistent with strike: going lateral and landing too much on the outer toes. But I'm getting better, for sure.
