OFF - William's wedding in PDX

June 6, 2020 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Other

Weather: rainy, crappy

Comments:
OFF.

Slept very poorly after 4AM at the boat launch north of Lincoln City. Turns out a lot of people use the launch, really fucking early! Got woken up by loud-ass diesel trucks and peopel at 4ish and 5:30, which was annoying.

So we were up before 6. Showered in the parking lot (still barely light and the fishermen were gone), then drove to PDX for Callie's cousin's micro-wedding.

Pretty fun, fast event in the Rose Garden! For the second time (in a row), I put on a suit in a bathroom and we witnessed their wedding. A total of 8 people were there. We "shared' some champagne and donuts after the 9AM ceremony finished!

It was so early because the weather forecast for the afternoon (Plan A) turned to shit. And it was correct: weather was "OK" til about noon, then began to periodically downpour. We spent some of that time in Will and Meg's backyard, then front porch, socializing, before CA and I took off.

Part 3 of the trip was going to be a ski outing at Timberline! So we drove to Hood, but by the time we got to the entrance road, it was rainy and turning to slush snow! The upper campground was still snowed in, so both skiing (that day) and camping were a wash.

We scoped some lower campgrounds, but same shit: tons of rain.

So...we drove around the bend. Just past Hood Meadows, the road dropped east and north and just like that: no rain, and pretty clear skies. After more driving around, we settled on Nottingham CG, just off the highway (enough) and along the East Fork Hood River.

GREAT spot. We had the place to ourselves. Pretty fun campfire and evening dinner.

No exercise. I was pretty tired from all the biking I've been doing, and CA still needs rest.
