July 26, 2020 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 80s, getting warm
Comments:
Ran a mile, barefoot, at SEHS, about 2% into our run.
I did a TON of work on my ankle in the AM, including ball rolling at:
* lateral foot and post-ankle (SORE!)
* just above the ankle (an area that I hadn't worked on in weeks, if not months - SORE!)
* top of the fibula (still sore, but getting better)
But since it was all moving so much better (compared to 9 days ago), I gave it a go. I went barefoot, since I truly wanted to feel what was going on.
After a clunky lap, I had Callie film...and it looked pretty damn good! Good posture, knee-out, trunk stability, landing...it was all solid.
AND, the cool thing was feeling how much more "ease" there was to hip flex/drive - no doubt the product of all that strength/mobility to hip flexion I've been doing.
Ran about 6 laps or so -- and the only soreness was base of the achilles -- then we continued on our ride.
PM: tiny bit stiff, but not bad (so far)
