Well, its Election Day and my last day at the lab for now. Symbolic that its time to reassess our affairs and move on. I didnt want to deal at all with any shenanigans today so I got up at 4am and just hit the road. Drove through the city in the dark and saw the sunrise as I made it on 17. Im glad I know the route and didnt hit any traffic, but I was tired. Got it out and did what needed to be done. Now Im back at home and waiting for the work permits to get out of here for a bit. Who knows what's gonna happen but going to Canada now seems like some kind of sign and signal for me at least. Very excited, but anxious and frustrated with the situation. But 2020 has helped me adjust to these things I can't control, just like the Election and the way our country behaves and the values and principles we apparently reinforce through voting. Some of it makes me sad but there is always another side of hope and you cannot give that up no matter what.
