Campus out and Back

December 22, 2020 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Making up for all the lost time in isolation. I got up and out in the morning and decided to walk over to campus to check it out, see how long it takes. It was freezing this morning, but a brisk walk was refreshing and comfortable. Cut through the bog and walked the Cleveland Trail to come out right in the main entrance of campus. Not a lot of folks around but its a spectacular site. Went to the bookstore, then walked back home via. Wesbrook Village and the Imperial trail after I got some coffee. All in all I was out all morning and walked 17,600 steps, good for about 9 mi. Not expecting to to that at all! Right foot was a little sore afterwards since my shoes are not quite build for that long of a hike. I rested a few hours, then got a notice to come in and meet Prof. Schafer briefly as she happened to be on campus. I think she thought I was also on campus, but I needed to get out and go run anyways. Went the same route back, but took the Heron trail this time. 3 miles exactly to the bookstore. Stopped and chatted with her for a little bit, then got back on my way. I wanted to check out the sunset over the water and the mountains, so I ran to the edge of campus and caught it just in time. From there, turned around and came back the same way. Did not realize that added on an extra mile, which I started to feel on the way back. Wow put some serious work on my legs today, but I am not even that tired, just sore now. Take it easy going through the holidays to build myself back up to consistency.

Essentials: Stretch

Good stretch when I got back, legs are sore for sure, can tell I went pretty far today. Upper body and abs also sore, whole body is adjusting. Actually, everything is adjusting at this point.
