December 31, 2020 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Rain let up a little bit. Took the opportunity so I spent the morning on the bike on campus to see how long it takes. 17 minutes door to door to Chem E. Nice. I also went around the quad and the edge of campus taking some pictures. There were a fair amount of folks walking around. In the afternoon got out for my run. Legs a little sore in weird places, but foot felt good. Went down the hill to 39th, over to Carnarvon, up to 33rd then back home on Crown. Little 4.5er on neighborhood streets with a good amount of hills. Got into a good pace and just put in the work. Last run of 2020. Again, doesn't feel like this year is over yet with all the shit that went down. Who cares about a calendar? Its just one day at a time since we don't know when this will be over. Same thing with last New Years, but I had big big plans for this year, finishing up postdoc and getting an academic position. Im grateful that my education kept doors open for me and I was able to be flexible, and now am on a new exciting journey. I can't complain because I got to run a lot more this year than last year (almost 1000 miles! Been a while since I hit that benchmark). Also thankful to be in a place where there is good running now.
Essentials: Stretch
Ok stretch when I got back. I was pretty wet from the humid air and its starting to warm up considerably with the wet front coming in. Legs adjusting well to the hills and mileage I would say. Don't really feel like I took two weeks off anymore. As always, here's to many more miles next year and hopefully some races sprinkled in. Every mile every day matters.
