January 10, 2021 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Sunday morning long run grind. Good to get it in while its "warming" up. There was a bit of a drizzle but not raining hard enough to get wet. Made it a little chilly. Ran down 16th to the Heron and Cleveland trails and went all the way through to Chancellor Blvd, then came back down Acadia. Very nice loop, lots of soft surfaces along the way, and usually enough space if there are lots of dog walkers out. Also, elevation is about as flat as you can get around here. Coming back, I thought I would slow down but ended up picking it up along the track until Camosun. Its always good to throw in a little push at the end of a long run. This felt natural and strong also. Knee a little sore today but feet feeling fine, even on the slippery muddy paths.
Essentials: Stretch
Good stretch when I got back. Felt even better to get inside out of the wetness. It wasn't that cold (I have not encountered pants weather yet) but getting we chills you down for sure. Pleased with long run mileage even though my other runs this week were pretty short. Got to keep building up the robustness of my legs to maintain the distance.
