Down Highbury Up Macdonald

May 22, 2021 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Walked into lab this morning. I guess now I am used to this amazing weather, its the default for summer. Walking in is not a chore, its a pleasure. I did a few things to stay busy but it wasn't high octane at all. Came back and chilled a little before heading out in later afternoon. I was very scatter brained apparently, forgot my key in my shorts and didnt grab my mask, which I now run with all the time basically since this time last year. It felt weird to not have it honestly. Went down Highbury, along Pt Grey Rd. and back Macdonald to 16th. Started out fast had good pace trying to avoid people. Side streets are booked up solid near the beach and there were lots and lots of bikes out. Running down Macdonald isn't great but its something different and nice to be in the thick of things. I actually like coming up 16th its less intense incline and you can really work it up. I had to wait at the Dunbar light for a long time and that broke up my tempo on the way home. Calf was alright a little sore but not tight or painful. Actually felt cohesive with respect to yesterdays mileage.

Essentials: Stretch, roll

I was kinda gassed initially when I got back but got down to stretch, need to roll and ice a little more actually. Running later afternoon is good cause sun is a little lower and temp is just perfect.
