Exercise Type: Run
Weather: high 40s, mist
Comments:
Picked up a new pair of shoes at ERC (mega-convenient to have your running shoe store 100m away), then rolled with Jeff at noon.
Went easy, sort of. He was pace-pushing a bit, but considering my JET LEG from yesterday AND the impending AT, I asked him to back off. Did the whole loop with him, stopped for a deuce/drink at work, then back out to PRE for the AT.
Big focus was on FORM: knee/hip drive and FORWARD LEAN. Trails were soft and sloppy in places. First mile was pretty fast: 5:48. Next two out on the prairie were TOUGH: tired, and the wind picked up. Distance was unknown d/t the construction (it was already shady in accuracy), but split that next "2" in 11:49. Fine.
Easy jog back to work. Legs felt better, definitely. No orthotics and I could definitely tell I did NOT need them: my arches weren't "slamming home" in the mid/rearfoot! Interesting...
