Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
Canada Day! Affords us the freedom to go for a run. But for real with the pandemic and the residential schools, this was a weird feeling Canada Day. Along same lines of how I felt on 4th of July last year with how America was embarrassing itself infront of the whole world. There should be things to celebrate but first we need to fix the mistakes. The best part is the system in place to make those changes and the hard workers who want to get the job done. That's what makes Canada, and could make the US so great. Anyways I walked into campus to do a few things but then came home early and chilled. Got out down to Jericho and then came back on Blenheim, 10th and Highbury. IDK how or why the pace was so quick today. Maybe it was cause I was trying to pass walkers and keep up with bikers the entire time. Really pushed the hill at the end to keep up. Weather is bareable now especially with the breeze, but this heat wave fuckin sucked. This should not be the normal. For all the societal issues we have, the climate issue rises above all and should be of most concern. Im loosing faith in our species as it is right to tackle this. Got a cramp right at the end of the run as I was turning home. Don't think I was hydrated enough today.
Essentials: Stretch
Super sweaty soaked when I got back and I had to quell the cramp. Stretch was good. Despite the pace and walking in this morning, legs feel chipper. It also was nice to get out there on a Thursday, which I usually don't have the chance to do. Also feeling greatful to Canada despite their shit decisions in the past for opening up to me and letting me do something fun and take a break from US for a little bit. I really needed that.
