Bike ride around Van

September 6, 2021 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Bike

Comments:
Labour Day, I learned my lesson this time and didnt go into lab. Did do some work at home in the morning but in the afternoon, Jourdain and I took off on the bikes to go around town. Everyone was out, and they should have been. The weather was crazy nice today, just perfect for what is kind of like the last day of summer. I haven't wrapped my head around that concept yet... Anyways we started out to the greenway to get to Burrard, went across the bridge and then hopped on the beach path to Stanley Park. Did the entire seawall and back to the bridge. I could keep up with the E-bike pretty well and there were so many people we had to go with the flow, especially around the seawall. After we got back across the bridge, we kept going, did all of Kits beach and then down to Jericho. On a roll so we kept going and going down Spanish Banks and decided to just do a loop around campus to see how crazy it actually was. I didnt know what the hill was like up NW Marine, but my guess it was steep. I fuckin blitzed up it not quite at the pace of the E-bike but I didnt stop and passed a lot of road bikers on the road. I was pretty gased at that point at the top. We continued through campus and then came back home on 16th. It was pretty crazy on campus actually, around what I expect for full student population but next week should be even crazier. All in all we did 27 miles and were out there for almost 3 hrs. We took a few breaks here and there but I definitely had to hammer the pace at certain sections. It was a great way to get out on a nice day and see how much fun people downtown have. How awesome to have the park and the beach right there.
