Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
More rain so it didnt matter when I ran I was gonna get soaked anyways. Went a bit early because I was gonna be dirty when I got back so I should just clean after that. It was coming down but picked up a lot throughout the run. Ran down 20 to the green way then made it across Burrard. I knew I wanted to extend my long run distance so I decided to try and make it over to Cambie Bridge and come back that way. Ran down Pacific to Cambie, but the west side of the bridge is under construction for bikes and pedestrians so I had to unexpected detour over to the other side. So confusing to get up there but I made it across. Went all the way over and then wandered around Olympic Village to catch up to the seaside path and ran through Charleson Park and came back on 6th and 8th. Rain was really coming down hard downtown and all the buildings were shrouded in the clouds. Still, a bunch of people out walking and running and getting it done. At about the 1hr mark, legs started to feel heavy, along with all the extra water weight I was carrying. I think pace slowed down a lot on the way back. I struggled up the hill but kept moving forward and finished up strong. Shows what kind of shape I am in, that I can manage this distance but I would need to fit in another 1.5 miles to get back to my race pace. But to brave through the rain like that is pretty satisfying.
Essentials: Stretch
Stretch and rehydrate when I got back. Definitely gonna feel sore from this one. Legs were beat up at the end and so soaked. Haven't rolled in a while but need to keep care as mileage increases for these long runs.
