Accidental "Long" Run

January 24, 2022 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 10's; Snow

Comments:
Great way to start the week. Iced a bunch over the weekend and had a really solid warmup beforehand. 30 sec walk, 3 mi run, 30 sec cooldown. Aimed for 2, but figured I could frontload a little to make rest of week easier. Did some incorrect math in my head while extending and ended up with 3 instead of 2.5. Either way, stretched well after.

Saw orthopedist later in the day. Sports medicine guy at UHS. He was really solid and had a few pointers: strengthening hips, quads, and glutes (which I've been trying to do), cycling out running shoes in a way so that one pair is always fresher than the other, and returning to PT with them (next appt is on the 9th). He advised against steroid injections as those are really only a temporary solution. Either way, this gave me some hope. Looking forward to getting over 10 this week!
