June 23, 2022 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: on/off sun and clouds, fine
Comments:
Did my first double-digit run since 4/3/22. And it went well!
Ran the start to the end of the Chief and back.
Man, this section is SO tough. First, the roads were closed for "construction", so I had to take this meandering, rugged and poorly maintained "canyon" trail to the high country (after which I took roads).
Then, once in the Chief? SO rugged and technical! And all those fucking trail-creeks! (It will take 15min off the race splits when they do the northern reroute, above those creeks)
I was patient, and otherwise felt pretty good. Deuced at the turnaround, then made my way back. Some ankle and foot stiffness, but not bad. Just "out of shape".
Rode the gondola down just before a big rain storm.
Rest of the day:
• worked on Ellie, nearly two hours
• basically got stood-up with Kaci
• same with AJW, but his flight got canceled
After waiting around for Kaci, I went into Truckee for groceries, then back to the dispersed site. Didn't make a fire.
So excited to see Jules tomorrow. We didn't really text today (I like to "give space" - and she appreciates it, too), but it's "on".
