Waldo: Maiden Peak/LOF/Maiden Lake, Skyline Trails

July 8, 2022 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 70, nice

Comments:
Worked 7a-1p, then hustled on several errands before getting out of town and hauling up to Waldo.

Parked on Gold Lake Rd at the Maiden Peak TH and did a big loop: up to PCT (really, on the BGD 2012 Waldo course adjust), then following it up Maiden, down to Maiden Lake, over to PCT again. But rather than turn left to the ski area, we went right: north a kilo on the PCT to connect to Skyline, which is the very beginning (descent) of the course. This took me back down to Gold Lake.

Didn't bring water: my only mistake. Other than that? Felt GOOD. Also, I do think there was a fair amount of conifer pollen out.

Stride felt good. Posture was solid, though I felt I was "reachy" with my hips and feet.

Slow, but good! Very encouraging!

Post-run:
* some hang-out time and TWO beers at the camp, which included Ed, Craig and Matt Keyes, up from CA, and several Hunters.
* back to Willamette Pass Inn, where I stayed, rather than camp (had no gear)
* had a nice chat with JSG before bed :-)

Great day, and great end to a big work week!
