Don't call it a comeback

January 14, 2010 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
I've been waiting to write this one for a looooong time:

Finally got the ok to run. I personally think its better, the doctor also said I should be fine and that its about time I start testing it to see if I'm recovered. If it doesn't work out, then, well at least I tried, and I'll take more time off. I need to keep in mind that there will be slight pain, but it should not get worse or be sharp, that's when I ease off the running a bit.

I want to have a slow, smart comeback. Start short, build up slowly. My goal is to be doing consistent mileage by the end of indoor (40-50 per week).

Scheduled an orthodics appointment for next week.

400 indoor, felt fine

Time to get all motivational. This is for me to look back on, so if you're running-log-stalking, you can read it, but don't hold anything against me:

I will have something to prove and I will make a statement. I ran with a chip on my shin for a month, I will have no problem running with one on my shoulder. I have all the intentions of racing indoor conference. I will make every contribution to the team that I possibly can. I will take advantage of every opportunity that I have to get better. I will motivate my teammates and make them faster. I will always be positive. I have worked my ass off for the past 2 months to stay in the best shape that I can be in. I was at the YMCA for 2 hours every day over break, that time spent will pay off. I will trust in my natural talent and work ethic to allow me to come back. I will find out something I've always wondered, just how much natural talent I have. I will not let those who tell me I "can't" get in the way of my goals, they have never stopped me before, and they never will. I will take this as a challenge and conquer it. I will shock the UAA. I will do my absolute best to be racing the weekend after my birthday, May 22nd. I will help our XC team get to nationals next season. I will run a sub 4:20 mile, a sub 15:00 5k, a sub 8:45 3k and ABSOLUTELY a sub :57 400 before I graduate. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, I will not stop, I will never, ever stop.

Don't call it a comeback....I was never gone.
