Comments:
The first 1.635 miles was at (6:15 pace). However, I sped it up from there and the 800 split taken after getting out of the woods was 2:59. I maintained that pace for the next couple miles. Hopping over the fence was bad cause it broke my rhythm but I regained it quickly. By the time I started the second circuit in the woods, I was really moving. And once I exited the woods, I maintained that speed and may have even sped up a little. That portion of the run (3.53 miles) was done at 5:30 pace. I wanted to see if I could go 5 minute pace for the last 800 meters so I pushed it. I ended up splitting 2:30 exactly, feeling smooth the entire way. This is definitely one of the most solid long runs I have ever done. The shins didn't hurt at all surprisingly. The pain in the left shin has been very weird this entire week. As opposed to hurting in a single spot, the pain is more generalized towards the entire leg. I'm hoping this is a good sign.
