Got up early today because it was a trek down to SNU from Invading. JD's student met me to help get me down there on the crowded subway. Probably could have figured it out but it was helpful because we stopped and got breakfast and you need to walk a little bit of the way up onto campus, which is nestled in the mountains. Its kinda cool. The symposium was held at their little conference center and we had a nice schedule. Talk went well but it was kinda weird with the Zoom talks split in. We kinda just ripped through them, which I guess in the sense of the full meeting was fine. While the KSR was meeting I went up and checked out some labs and talked to students which was awesome. The ChemE building is up at the top of the hill so we got to drive all the way through campus. After dinner we stopped for some drinks but I didnt stick around too long. JD was burnt and was my guide back to Insadong. Thats fine I dont think I could have stayed out all night anyways but it was nice to chat with some folks and connect. They now know who I am and were happy to share Korean rheology with a foreigner. I hope I was able to share my gratitude with them too. JD and I took a long way home stopped off in Gangnam just for fun. By time I got back, felt like I was finally on local time, classic. At this point, super happy everything went smoothly. ISAR trip cut up the semesters nicely and made me remember why I am doing what I am doing and what it all can mean.
