Comments:
Effectively got right into it after massage gun to loosen up. Goal was tempo for which each mile was 30 seconds faster, starting at 8 min pace, getting down to 5:30. Did Maple loop, with additions and subtractions here and there. Splits in actuality were 8:20, 7:25, 6:36, 6:21, 5:54, and 5:45, plus quarter mile at ~5:13 pace (77 seconds). Definitely went too fast in miles 3 and 4 but I was so afraid of overshooting! Last mile was a slog, I did my best to get under 5:30 but with all the hills and trying to avoid traffic I think the outcome makes sense. Either way, it was nice to get out and do this in the morning, not having to run in the heat of the afternoon. Plus, a faster day away from the track will do wonders. Jogged a cooldown back to Nak, then some with Addison around the neighborhood. Easy 3-5 tomorrow, will ice later.
