Comments:
Woke up, ran a quick shakeout, had a hotel breakfast, then packed up and shoved off. Warmed up slow, with a mile jog and 8+ strides before our delayed start. Temp was perfect at the start. Intentionally took it out a little faster than I have, then kinda held on for dear life. I was incredibly sore going into this, and fully prepared to crash out.
Splits were 5:54, 5:51, 5:55, 5:51, and 5:21ish. Kick was not nearly as strong as I would’ve liked, but with all the rolling hills, I’ll take it. Instead of having designated miles where I picked people off, I just tried to do it the whole way through. Excited to finally have the sub-29 label tacked onto my short collegiate club running career!! 3 mile cooldown before awards ceremony and a long ride back home.
