Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
3 miles warmup

Legs felt a little heavy during strides and warmups, plan for the race was just to get out in 66 or better and hang out for the first 600 or so.

Came through the 800 in around 2:13 (I think?)

Kept pace for another lap and made a 'move' at 600M to remind myself to keep going at pace. Its really easy to slow down at this point and wait for the kick, so every lap I 'sped up.' Which resulted in a bunch of 33's, but I didn't slow down, which was the important part. Started kicking with 400 to go and kicking even harder on the last lap. Fucking STOUT fieldhouse though, half of the backstretch is taken up by the long jump runway, lane 3 is being used by fucktards doing strides that can't respect those who are racing. So I'm stuck behind a UW stout guy and a LAX guy and I can't pass them on the backstretch even though I know I'm faster. Tried to pass on turn, but hard from lane 3, plus it was still crowded by fucktards. Finally there were hurdles in the way because the finals followed and the dumb shits already had hurdles in lanes 3-6 (FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!) so I had no room to go to the outside. I tried to push inbetween but they wouldn't let me. I was able to finally sneak my way through at the end but with only 20M or so to go and I only got the LAX guy. Pisses me off because I think the whole last lap cost me a second, if not more.

4:26.3 (results aren't up, but thats what I think it was. can't remember exactly)
I'm mildly happy with this. My HS PR was a 4:24.xx for the 1600. So this mile is about my PR. But I'm still not excited. Mostly just bitter because I could have run faster and taken 2nd instead of 3rd. Whatever.

Current plan is to run the 800M in one week at Bethel. Then run the 3000M at snowshoe in three weeks. This will be my last 3K for the season since they aren't really anymore open track meets for me until outdoor starts up. Looks like March is going to be pure training.

4.5 cooldown (Stokke + 809 Bongey + 28th)

EDIT:

Looked up my 1600 at TFA 2006. 4:24.90
Official Mile time for this race was 4:26.39

Coverting 4:26.39 to a 1600M time is:

4:24.90

Srsly?

Well thats damn close to a PR and I'm happy that I'm finally in shape again that I can start running these times again. Although I do consider my 1600 PR my weakest one from high school, put it will be good to see that go down next time I run this.
